The Away Bound Brain

I recently encountered a true labour of love. The folks over at Craft Stew have compiled a list of 115 bookbinding tutorials, ranging from the traditional to the altered, stitch, coptic, cracker box art journals, and not last and certainly not least, the Toilet Paper Roll Mini Album Toilet Roll Mini Album, compliments of Scrapbook Crazy, a truly dangerous site for the temporally challenged.http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b3/Art_of_Bookbinding_p098_Registered_Cutting_Machine.png/256px-Art_of_Bookbinding_p098_Registered_Cutting_Machine.png

stingy scholar- cheap on resources- gluttonous on knowledge

God bless open courseware.
Glory to the tutorial web. Distance ed- a boon to convenience and expenditure.
My philosophy on knowledge is simple.
Information must be free. Knowledge, however, is hard, arduous work.
The most threadbare of catch-phrase patriotics-
We are the Land of Opportunity. Anything here can be had if one is willing to work.
Unlike much of what this statement claims to apply to, the formula for heart's desire fails more often than it succeeds.
Stingy Scholar. Thou rarest exception.

Jamie Littlefield's Self Made Scholar is one of the most well-rounded, user friendly blogs I can recommend for anyone interested in alternative education. This blog includes lists of prominent self learners and helpful suggestions such as where and how to begin. Links to learning resources throughout the web make this blog a resource in itself.
